A/Prof Manefield is currently on a convertible tenure track employment contract in the School of BABS, having spent 2004 to 2010 as a Senior Research Associate in the UNSW Centre for Marine BioInnovation and 2011-2014 as an ARC FT2 Future Fellow. Mike was employed from 2001 as a postdoctoral scientist in the NERC Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Oxford, UK. He completed four professional visits of approximately three months duration on each occasion to the University of Cambridge, UK (2000), the Danish Technical University, Denmark (2000), the Marine Biotechnology Institute, Japan (2003) and the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich, Germany (2009). He was recently awarded an August Wilhelm Scheer Visiting Professorship from the Technical University of Munich, Germany.
