(1) 水滑石催化剂制备,主要着眼于高活性和高选择性催化剂的制备、构效关系、模拟优化和反应性能方面的研究。 (2) 水滑石的表面改性及其在污染控制中的应用；特别是在重金属污染控制及其控制机理研究。 (3) 无机纳米功能材料研究及应用。 (4) 酶催化与酶手性合成及拆分，特别着重研究蛋白结构与其催化功能的构效关系，及其金属离子与酶催化活性的构效关系。
