Atomic scale characterization of electrified solid/liquid interfaces by means of in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and scanning force microscopy (AFM). Additive-assisted Cu electroplating for industrial applications (Damascene process, TSV technology); synthesis of polymer additives for Cu electroplating; laser ionization mass spectrometry (LIMS) depth profiling. Additive-assisted Sn (or Sn alloy) electroplating for solder bumping. Electrochemical reduction of CO2 from aqueous and non-aqueous electrolyte solutions (power to gas / power to liquid); cluster synthesis; DOSY-NMR; gas chromatography (GC); ion chromatography (IC). Mass transport phenomena in ionic liquids (ILs).
