As the dimensions of a material are altered, physical and chemical behavior can change dramatically. My research involves the many aspects of two-dimensional (2D) layered nanomaterials including developing new synthetic growth methods, investigating their unusual physics and chemistry, and addressing outstanding issues for real-world application of these novel materials.
