从事超短超强激光与等离子体相互作用的研究,特别是其中的相对论效应、量子电动力学效应和周期量级激光脉冲效应;进行激光惯性约束聚变研究,特别是快点火方案中的超短超强激光等离子体相互作用问题;进行超短超强激光与稀薄等离子体或固体密度等离子体相互作用加速产生高能电子、质子束等。
