个人简介

Prof Peter Mortimer is a soil ecologist for the Kunming Institute of Botany. After having completed his PhD in plant physiology at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, Peter took up his current position in Kunming where he runs the Soil Biology Group. The group specializes on various aspects of soil ecology, but the main focus of the group is mycology, including the ecology of macro and microfungi, fungal biogeography, and fungal taxonomy. In addition, Peter and his research team work on the documentation of traditional knowledge relating to the use and trade of mushrooms, and how mushrooms can be used as a means of rural development in Asia.
