本课题组依托中国健康与营养调查（theChineseHealthandNutritionSurvey，CHNS）项目，以控制肥胖为切入点，主要从事生活习惯病（包括肥胖、高血压和糖尿病）的流行病学研究。课题组采用国际化的教学模式，以培养流行病学专业人才为目标。欢迎有志于生活习惯病流行病学研究的年轻人加盟。对成绩优异者可推荐攻读博士学位和出国留学。
BiographicalSketch
ProfessorTianearnedhisMDandMPHatHebeiMedicalUniversityin1985and1988.Afterashorttimeresearchon“theepidemiologicalaspectofmothertoinfanttransmissionofHepatitisBVirusinfection”,hewenttoShinshuUniversitySchoolofMedicineinJapanandearnedhisPhDmajoredinMolecularBiologyin1997.ExcludedashortstayasaresearchfellowatNIH/NICHDinBethesda,Maryland,heworkedaspostdoctoralfellow,instructorandassistantprofessorattheDepartmentofNeuroplasticityofShinshuUniversityGraduateSchoolofMedicinefrom1997-2007.HecamebacktoChinaasaprofessorofepidemiologyatHebeiMedicalUniversitySchoolofPublicHealthin2008andnowheisalsotheDeanofInternationalEducationalCollegeoftheUniversity.
DrTianhasabroadresearchbackgroundinmolecularbiology,molecularandbehaviouralneuroscienceaswellasinepidemiology.HehasalsointernationalexperienceinbothteachingandresearchinUSA,JapanandChina.Hisresearchinterestincludesthemolecularepidemiologyofubiquitinspecificproteaseandthepreventionoflife-stylerelateddisease,suchasDiabetesandHypertension,byinventingnovelbodyweightcontrolprogrammesuitableforChinese.
From2012,henarrowedhisresearchfieldtothepreventionoflife-stylerelateddisease,whichisthemajorpublichealthproblem,andthemaincauseofdiseaseburdeninChina.Inparticular,bycooperationwithDrBingZHANGofChineseCDContheChina-USjointresearchprojectcalled“theChineseHealthandNutritionSurvey”,whichstartedfrom1989,ProfTianhasfocusedhisresearchontheepidemiologicalstudiesofobesity,hypertensionandtype2diabetes,includingtheseculartrendofincidenceandprevalenceofthosediseasesinChina.Asprimaryresultsofthecooperation,hehassubmittedseveralpapersaddressingtheseculartrendofobesityandhypertensioninChinaover22years.
DrTianactivelyinvolvesinthesciencepopularizationonthetechniqueofbodyweightcontrolusingbothbehaviouralandpromotingphysicalactivityapproachinlocalcommunity.Atthesametime,heisateacherforlocalnutritionpractitioneronthefood-exchangemethodfordiabeticpatient.Hehaswrittentwochaptersabout“themanagementofhypertensionanddiabetesinprimarycareunit”inthebookof“GuidedManualforTechnicalTraininginBasicPublicHealthService”publishedbyChineseUnionMedicalUniversityPressin2014(seedetailsintheBooksection).DrTianisalsoanassociateeditorofGeneandMetaGeneandhewritesChaptersincludingthe“Experimentalepidemiology”,“Cohortstudy”and“Howtowriteandsubmitascientificpaper”inseveraltextbooksforundergraduateandgraduatestudentsinChinese.
