Dr. Martinez has worked in the glass industry in the development of analytical techniques to measure and control physical and chemical properties of colored glasses. During her Ph.D. (Arizona State University) she studied structural relaxation in the glass transformation range using visible spectroscopy. She is currently Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry at Tecnologico de Monterrey. Her research focuses on the preparation and thermomechanical characterization of sugar glass based formulations to preserve thermolabile biomolecules with applications to the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry.
