Junction function: The stability of DNA three‐way junctions is significantly enhanced by incorporating lipophilic spacers to create a hydrophobic pocket within the junction space. Hydrophobic interactions in aqueous solution serve as a “glue” to increase stability, as measured by UV melting temperature experiments.
