A [2]rotaxane incorporating a monopyrrolo‐tetrathiafulvalene (green) unit that is encircled by a cyclobis(paraquat‐p‐phenylene) ring (blue) and containing a photoactive dihydroazulene (DHA) as the stopper group (yellow) was prepared. The DHA and its vinylheptafulvene (VHF) photoisomer both act as stopper groups, preventing dethreading of the ring. The kinetics of the thermal VHF‐to‐DHA conversion was influenced strongly by the positively charged ring.
