gem-Diborylalkanes serve as privileged carbanion precursors for the efficient construction of carbon–carbon bond with various carbonyl and carboxyl compounds. We highlight the recent advances on deoxygenative transformation of carbonyl and carboxyl compounds using gem-diborylalkanes reagents.
