Treatment of tetrafluoroallene or its precursor, ICF₂CH₂CF₂I, with phenols in the presence of K₂CO₃ gave the corresponding unsaturated ethers. Tetrafluoroallene also reacted readily with amines in THF at room temperature to afford 3,3,3-trifluoropropionamides.
