Green phosphorescence: Molecular phosphorescent heteroleptic bis-tridentate iridium(III) complexes with a six-membered heterometallacycle in their structure (see figure) have been prepared via η1-arene intermediates. They are green emitters that display short lifetimes (1–10 μs) and high quantum yields (0.73–0.87) in the solid state.
