Dynamical study of compacton in weakly nonlocal nonlinear media under competitive nonlinearities

We study the dynamics of compacton light beams in a weakly nonlocal nonlinear medium with concurrent nonlocality. This study, which is analytical and numerical, focuses on the propagation, stability and interaction of these optical beams. We show that in the absence of diffraction, compacton beams propagate in a stable manner. When diffraction is taken into account, the dynamics of the propagation of compacton beams shows a restructuring of the beam which leads respectively, depending on the order of magnitude of the diffraction and/or the power, to breathing compacton and peakons. The study of the interaction between these optical beams shows us that in the absence of diffraction, the compacton light beams do not interact. On the other hand, in the presence of diffraction, it shows that a defocusing quintic nonlocality generates a repulsive force between the light beams. In addition, it attenuates the effects induced by diffraction. Study of collision reveals that quintic nonlocality increases collision distance while diffraction reduces it.
