We have developed a facile and straightforward pathway for construction of phosphorus containing polycyclic compounds through Alder-ene reaction of the 1,n-enyne moiety. This work also has demonstrated the advance and feasibility of the alkene cyclization strategy in the synthesis of structurally complex benzo-fused bicyclo[3.3.0] scaffolds and naphtho-fused bicyclo[4.3.0] skeletons.
