Fruit tree triploid varieties can be bred based on hybridization between diploids and tetraploids. However, no Chinese jujube hybrid polyploid varieties have been reported thus far. The identification and evaluation of the fruit traits of Chinese jujube interploid offspring constitute the basis for the development of triploid hybrid varieties. In this study, 18 ‘Dongzao’ (diploid) × ‘Chenguang’ (tetraploid) progeny were identified by simple sequence repeat (SSR) molecular markers and flow cytometry, and their fruit traits were evaluated with a view to screening out excellent progeny. The results showed that all of the progeny were triploid hybrids of ‘Dongzao’ (diploid) × ‘Chenguang’ (tetraploid). A unique fingerprint was created for each progeny by using four pairs of core primers (JSSR-244, JSSR-318, JSSR-454, and JSSR-490). The analysis of 14 fruit trait characteristics, including single fruit weight, fruit longitudinal and transverse diameter, fruit shape index, fruit hardness (with and without peel), edible rate, water content, soluble solids, vitamin C, soluble sugar, titratable acid, flavonoids and total phenols, demonstrated that the fruit traits significantly differed among the 18 hybrid triploids and that the superior lines A6 and A15 exceeded that of the parents ‘Chenguang’ in terms of single-fruit weight, yet not every offspring exhibited overparent heterosis. The gray relational analysis based on 11 fruit trait characteristics demonstrated that hybrid triploids A13, A18, A11, and A17 had excellent fruit quality and are potentially useful for novel triploid hybrid varieties. This study provides a foundation for the cultivation and application of triploid hybrids from ‘Dongzao’ × ‘Chenguang’ and promotes interploid hybridization breeding in Chinese jujube.
