Retraction of “Soft Nanotubes Acting as a Light-Harvesting Antenna System”

The authors retract the published paper “Chem. Mater. 2012, 24, 209–214. DOI: 10.1021/cm2030526” because, upon investigation by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, crucial Electron Microscopy images were found to have been manipulated, which undermines the main findings of the paper. Specifically, Figure S8 was found to have been manipulated, and the original image before trimming and scaling could not be found. As a result, it is no longer possible to determine that that subject of the image corresponds to the sample reported in the article. Additionally, Figures 2 and S2 do not correspond to what is claimed, and the images also have false scale bars, which are significantly larger than reality. The original Article was published on December 3, 2011 and was retracted on November 15, 2024. This article has not yet been cited by other publications.
