There is an urgent need for cerebroprotective interventions to improve the suboptimal outcomes with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Despite the important role of nonmuscle myosin heavy chain IIA (NMMHC IIA) in the blood–brain barrier (BBB), its function in ICH remains unclear.
