Hydride elimination from arylpyridyl-boranes results in formation of cationic highly Lewis acidic species. Nature of counterion appears to be crucial for its reactivity but also to its photophysical behavior. By taking advantage of accessibility diverse aryl pyridines and also by hydroboration reactivity of product, we prepared highly emissive compounds exhibiting green-yellow fluorescence with reaching quantum yields up to 93 % have been reported.
