Key points Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is now the standard of care for patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis (AS). New conduction defects remain a challenge following TAVR in patients requiring permanent pacemaker implantation (PPI). CMRI identified myocardial fibrosis (MF) with an increased extracellular volume (ECV) is a new predictor for these conduction defects following TAVR.
