Three three-phase interfacial reactions in electrochemical reduction of stacked GO membranes were found. Based on the finding, a method using a simple three-electrode device in combination with real-time imaging of the membrane surface for identifying and quantifying through-plane proton transport channels in stacked GO membranes is proposed.
