Magnetron sputtered perovskite ferroelectric BaTiO[formula omitted] as an electrocatalyst: Morphology, surface chemical state, OER activity, optical and electrical properties

In this work, BaTiO3 films are prepared under different temperature via magnetron sputtering method, and structural, optical and electrochemical properties are investigated. The optical absorption, bandgap, and electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction performance of thin film samples exhibit strong temperature dependence. The sample exhibits a higher absorption value and a lower overpotential η=372.6 mV, and has a lower band gap of 3.1 eV. This study contributes to exploring and revealing the correlation between ferroelectricity and electrocatalysis, providing insights for the preparation and research of ferroelectric oxide catalysts.
