A highly efficient energy storage system using underexplored sensitization strategies has been developed. Quantitative conversion and maximum isomerization quantum yields of aryl-substituted norbornadienes to the stable quadricyclane counterpart with exceptional energy storage capabilities are achieved, while harvesting photons from the solar spectrum efficiently.
