In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Choi and co-worker report a Ti3+-rich mesoporous TiO2-x catalyst that achieves superior performance in NO decomposition into N2 and O2 under visible light. The study highlights the crucial role of Ti3+ sites in enhancing NO adsorption and promoting N–N coupling to form N2.
