Textile shields: Current bibliometric analysis of fabric integration for EMI shielding and prospects for future research

An extensive bibliometric analysis utilizing data from Scopus was conducted to gain insight into the growth and development of fabric integration as EMI shielding from 2014 to July 23, 2023. The analysis selected 339 articles, which were then visualized using VOSViewer, R-Studio, and Tableau. The study explored various essential aspects, including the number of publications in this field over time, the authors with significant contributions, the contributions from different countries and their collaboration networks, the top journals publishing articles related to fabric integration as EMI shielding, the most frequently cited documents used as references, and research trends. The results showed that the most articles on fabric integration as EMI shielding were published in 2022, with a total of 72 articles. The research in the last decade displayed the remarkable dedication of authors from different countries. The latest research trend focuses on providing additional functions to shield fabrics, along with the use of MXene and Polydopamine as fillers in fabrics. This article provides researchers with a thorough and extensive overview of fabric integration as EMI shielding. It will enable them to identify research gaps and find collaborators with greater efficiency. This analysis is an invaluable resource for researchers who want to enhance their understanding of fabric integration as EMI shielding.
