A new family of phosphonium iodide featuring blue thermally activated delayed fluorescence was reported. Benefitting from the efficient exciton utilization, near-unity PLQY, large Stokes shift, and high X-ray attenuation ability contributed by I−, the prepared phosphonium iodide delivers outstanding X-ray scintillation performance, providing the application potential in high-quality X-ray imaging.
