In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Zhu, Luo, and coworkers report Ce-doped RuO2 (Ce-RuO2-x) in which a synergistic effect between the Ce-O-Ru local structure and existing oxygen vacancies can allow the boosting of the acidic water oxidation activity and stability through an adsorption evolution mechanism.
