The reactions of H ( = 1-(CHOCHCH)-3-(MeNCH)-CHN) with different equivalent of the RE(CHSiMe)(THF) produced a series of novel indol-2-yl-based NCO pincer rare-earth metal dialkyl complexes (κ-)RE(CHSiMe) (RE = Lu(), Yb()) and monoalkyl complexes (κ-)(κ-)RE(CHSiMe) (RE = Lu(), Yb(), Er(), Y()). These complexes served as catalysts for the hydroboration of imines and exhibited excellent activity with high efficiency under solvent-free and ambient temperature conditions.
