In a recent issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Qiu and co-workers report a novel strategy for promoting the precise exposure of active sites in alloy catalysts via surface-atom knockout enabled by electrochemical reaction. This is undoubtedly an important milestone for the design and synthesis of alloy catalysts and beyond.
