The last decades have been characterized by an unprecedented explosion of global data consumption driven by an increasingly connected world and the emergence of new (BW) bandwidth-intensive wireless applications, such as close-proximity wireless data transfer, highly immersive virtual reality/augmented reality applications, and high-capacity wireless backhaul links [1] . As a result, an ever increasing demand for higher capacity communication systems has pushed innovation in the field of wireless communication at extraordinary rates.
