Abstract
The data on the content of the 10Be cosmogenic isotope in the GISP2 Greenland ice core are presented. The reconstruction of the heliospheric modulation potential (HMP) was carried out for 6000–1348 BC. A systematic decrease in the HMP over this time interval was found, which corresponds to a decrease in global surface temperature after 3000 BC and a decrease in the HMP obtained from radiocarbon data in previous studies. Thus, the decline in global temperature after 3000 AD could be caused by a decrease in solar activity.
