BrilliantBlue FCF dye is encapsulated within the nano hydrophobic cavity of β-cyclodextrin in aqueous medium and the inclusion complex formation is confirmed by various spectroscopic and physicochemical techniques. CT-DNA binding interaction study reveals the controlled release of dye from the complex. The complex shows enhanced photostability and expresses pronounced in vitrocytotoxic activity towards cancer cell line A549 comparison to pure dye.
