A sulfion electro-oxidation coupled CO2 reduction system for the co-productions of formate and sulfur was constructed to lower electricity consumption. Meantime, a novel, low cost and environmentally friendly CO2-assisted sulfur separation technique was developed, and the by-product NaHCO3 can be used as electrolyte for cathodic CO2RR or in other chemical industry technologies.
