TiO2−CeO2−Pt hollow nanospheres (1 wt-% Pt) are prepared via a one-pot, liquid-phase approach using NaCl templates (outer diameter: 140–180 nm, wall thickness: 30–40 nm, inner cavity: 80–100 nm, specific surface area: 210 m2/g, Pt nanoparticles: 2–3 nm). The high-porosity material is exemplarily tested for CO oxidation and shows promising properties.
