An Unlocked Two-Dimensional Conductive Zn-MOF on Polymeric Carbon Nitride for Photocatalytic H2O2 Production

A strongly coupled hybrid photocatalyst based on a tubular photosensitive carbon nitride (CN) and a conductive zinc-containing metal–organic framework (Zn-MOF(lc)) catalytic unit is fabricated for H2O2 photosynthesis. The annealing-induced shrinkage of the Zn-O4 moiety in Zn-MOF(lc) unlocks its capability for O2 reduction to H2O2, and meanwhile, the strong interaction between these two components facilitates the photoelectron injection from CN to the activated Zn-MOF(lc) for enhanced photocatalytic H2O2 production.
