Benchtop NMR spectrometers are compact, lower in cost, and operate cryogen-free. The presented method using photoinduced hyperpolarization allows the detection of a protein-fragment interaction by a reduction of the ligand signal, simply by comparing the spectra measured in absence and presence of protein. Our approach enables to screen at micromolar concentrations of ligand and low micromolar concentrations of protein on a benchtop NMR.
