Donor-acceptor polymer photocatalysts bearing alkyl chains were synthesized to explore the effect of side-chain engineering on charge separation and migration kinetics. High activity was reached in photocatalytic reduction reactions with promoted exciton dissociation, suppressed charge recombination, facilitated charge transfer, and favorable hydrophilicity.
