Chiral hydrolytically stable cages have been prepared by a strategy that combines the advantages of a thermodynamic driven (dynamic covalent chemistry) formation of a supramolecular structure using imine chemistry together with a [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement. This approach of “freezing the dynamics” has been demonstrated with chiral tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine -based systems, which are hydrolytically stable due to the formation of C−C bonds.
