The introduction of flexible dibenzo-14-crown-4-ether moieties into a rigid framework has led to the generation of a bioinspired ultrathin membrane that allows proton transport. The interconnected hydrogen-bond/water networks and ideal binding sites result in the highly selective and fast transportation of protons through the membrane.
