Molecular scale chemical decoration on MOF molecular sieve nanosheets was developed. CO2 impurities physisorbed on the artificially introduced low dose amino side groups served as interlayer “bridges”, elegantly regulated interlayer spacing and retarded CO2 subsequent transports, bringing an unrivalled H2/CO2 separation accuracy which favored a high-purity H2 production.
