Reactivity of base-stabilized phosphinidene towards N-heterocyclic carbene and H−E (E=Si, P, B) bonds was studied. Reactions of the P(I) species with unsaturated compounds, such as tetrachlorobenzaquinone, benzaldehyde and phenylisocyanate, was also investigated.
