Affiliation

New derivatives of benzofuran and benzothiophene were synthesized by halogen dance from the 2-iodinated precursors. In addition, our efforts to deprotometallate 2-substituted (SiR₃, CH(OH)R) benzofurans and benzothiophenes at the 7-position are reported.
