Recent advances in biomedical applications of nanoprobes with aggregation-induced second near-infrared (NIR-II) emission are highlighted in this review. It includes the molecular design principle of functional NIR-II fluorophores with aggregation-induced emission, the fabrication of nanoprobes, and their translational biomedical application in tumor theranostics.
