A warm welcome for a WLED: The synthesis of single-component phosphor, tetrabutylammonium copper halides, with dual broad-band emission (494 and 654 nm), high photoluminescent (PL) quantum yield (93.7 %) and large Stokes shift (150 nm) is reported. The resulting diodes emitted white light with a high color rendering index of 89 and correlated color temperature (CCT) of 4516 K.
