Ni(bdc)(ted)0.5 has chemical affinity quantum sieving (CAQS) effect and kinetic quantum sieving (KQS) effect. Since the adsorption capacity of D2 in Ni(bdc)(ted)0.5 is greater than that of H2, and the diffusion rate at 77 K is lower than that of H2, Ni(bdc)(ted)0.5 can achieve the separation of hydrogen and deuterium in gas chromatography.
