Atomically dispersed ZnNC catalysts with Zn-Pyrrolic-N4 moieties have been synthesized, and the ZnNC-based anion-exchange membrane fuel cell not only presents an ultrahigh peak power density of 1.63 W cm−2 but also a long-term durability with more than 100 h operations in H2-O2 system. Density functional calculation further reveals that the Zn-Pyrrolic-N4 structure is the origin of high activity of as-synthesized ZnNC catalyst.
