Operando synchrotron radiation identifies the reconstruction process of highly dense Cu−N4 sites transforming to Cu−N4/Cu-nanoclusters (NC) and then to Cu−N3/Cu−NC under potential-driver, which could regulate the d-band center of metal atom and balance the competition of rate-determining step for ORR, thus optimizing the electrocatalytic activity and anion-exchange membrane fuel cell performance.
