Affiliation

We disclose photocyclization on conjugated organoboranes for rapid π-extension as an effective strategy to develop boron-doped molecular ribbons. A series of ribbon-type boron-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons including two isomers with the C₆₈B₂ π-skeletons were synthesized, and their contorted topological conformations, photochromism behaviors and electronic properties were demonstrated.
