PFAScinating: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are ordered porous crystalline solids with ultra-high internal surface areas. This makes them attractive for adsorption, catalysis, and sensing. As such, they are ideal for the detection and remediation of a variety of xenobiotic compounds including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which are toxic and recalcitrant.
