I write this Forum for the July 2022 issue of the Journal of Research in Music Education at the onset of a new period of geo-political instability and war while, at the same time, we continue to experience the lingering effects of a the global COVID-19 pandemic and strive to maintain our collective health and well-being.¹ I remain inspired by the work our colleagues in music education continue to do despite the immense challenges and stressors that confront us each day. Moreover, the editorial committee and I are honored to have the opportunity to feature a portion of that work in the JRME.
